The UAS America Fund, LLC has filed a formal Petition for Rulemaking with the FAA proposing a new “micro” unmanned aircraft rule. The proposed regulation would govern all commercial operations for unmanned aircraft systems that weigh three pounds or less, are operated below 400 feet, stay at least five miles from airports, and pilots must have a demonstrated level of aeronautical knowledge.
