The first of three A330neo Family development aircraft to fly – MSN1795, an A330-900 variant – successfully completed its first flight on Thursday. The flight originated at Toulouse-Blagnac, France and lasted 4 hours and 13 minutes, landing back at the airport at about 1410 local time. The aircraft was powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 turbofans. A patent granted to Amazon could someday lead to a drone landing on top of an electric car and transferring power to the vehicle while it is underway. The French Military is training four Golden Eagles to attack drones in flight as a way to defend against potential spying or attacks from the unmanned aircraft. The idea came up after several drones were flown over the French Presidential Palace. But they were not the first to consider such a plan.
