...And Then Paints A Picture Of Aviation's NextGen
Future
Below is the unedited text of the speech given by Ruth Leverenz,
acting Deputy Administrator of the FAA before the International
Aviation Womens' Association on Friday.
We unveiled a new and exiting addition to the Aero-News lineup
in July, during the annual excitement known as the EAA AirVenture
Oshkosh Fly-In. In addition to the highly-acclaimed Aero-Casting
products ANN introduced last year, Aero-News has unveiled a
full-time (24/7) Internet radio feed that will
feature all of ANN's most current news products as well as current
and archived news features of interest to flyers all over
cyber-space.
Aero-Terms are designed to be a daily reminder of the terms,
names, acronyms and explanations of the unique language that
populates the aviation world. Aerospace, sport aviation, fixed
wing, helo, you name it... it's all fair game.
"Right now, there is no common cause for an accident,
because we've picked off all the low-hanging fruit. Today's
accident is often a complex set of dominoes that fall in precisely
the right way, and an accident results."
