This site has been built as a tribute to these aircraft and to
serve as a memorial to those that died in what became known as the
"VISCOUNT DISASTERS".
A system in which a water and alcohol mixture is injected into
the induction system of a reciprocating engine when it is
developing full power. When the water injection system (or
anti-detonation system, as it is also known) is used, the fuel -air
mixture is leaned, allowing the engine to develop its maximum power
while still providing adequate cooling to the engine.
