ANN's Daily Aero-Term (01.25.15): High Speed Taxiway

High Speed Taxiway A long radius taxiway designed and provided with lighting or marking to define the path of aircraft, traveling at high speed (up to 60 knots), from the runway center to a point on the center of a taxiway. Also referred to as long radius exit or turn-off taxiway. The high speed taxiway is designed to expedite aircraft turning off the runway after landing, thus reducing runway occupancy time.

Aero-News: Quote Of The Day (01.25.15)

"That's going to be the initial focus over the next year. Certainly in the next year-and-a-half or so, we will be far enough along in continuing (tactics development) to develop a weapons school syllabus for the F-35. ... In the next two years, we'll be transitioning pilots in the short term to get F-35 experience, but we'll also be developing the (combat air forces) syllabus." Source: Col.
