ANN's Aero-Dozen: The Top Twelve Stories of 2006 (Part Two)

Depending on who you talk to, 2006 was either a very good year for aviation, or a year of much foreboding.

While we see another year off, at ANN we like to use this space to pay tribute to those in aerospace and aviation who will not be among us as we welcome in the New Year.

The air show season starts early this year with the first event on January 7 with the Cable AirFair at Cable Airport in Upland (CA).

Aero-Terms!

The roll motion of an aircraft is made by using the ailerons to move the wings up and down.

"The day is not far off when space missions made possible by this first joint effort will be more or less commonplace."

Source: President Gerald Ford, following the 1975 US-Apollo/Russian-Soyuz joint docking mission, which occurred during his term as the 38th President of the United States. President Ford passed away December 26, at the age of 93.
