Oceans Unmanned Provides Drone Training For NOAA

Included Classroom Instruction And Hands-On Flights

Oceans Unmanned, Inc., in partnership with DARTDrones, recently trained seven NOAA ship officers and Navigation Response Team members on drone operations at the NOAA Marine Operations Center in Newport, OR. The successful two-day training included classroom instruction and hands-on flights focused on vessel-based research and mapping missions.

UAVOS And Stratodynamics HiDron Glider Sets New Canadian Record

Reached An Altitude Of Over 111,400 Feet

As a part of the joint project between UAVOS and STratodynamics, UAVOS is excited to announce their latest successful record-setting stratospheric flight. The stratospheric glider named the HiDron was released from a Canadian Space Agency scientific gondola at an altitude of 111,434 feet and performed a four hour controlled flight and landed at Iroquois Falls Airport about 50 miles from the Timmins, Ontario launch site.

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has issued a call for participants for its Unmanned Aircraft Systems Standardization Collaborative (UASSC). The announcement follows the UASSC's 2019 plenary meeting held September 12 in Washington, DC, which served as the official launch of an update to the Standardization Roadmap for Unmanned Aircraft Systems, published in December 2018.
