The JCAB Longitude Is Outfitted With UNIFIS 3000-G2 Flight Inspection Equipment
Textron Aviation has delivered a special mission Cessna Citation Longitude, fitted with flight inspection calibration equipment, to be operated by the Japan Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB). The aircraft will conduct flight validation and flight inspection operations to ensure the integrity of the airways that constitute the national airspace of Japan. The Longitude continues the legacy of Cessna Citation flight inspection jet aircraft in service by the JCAB.
Third Announcement Of Awards For The 2022 Airport Improvement Program (AIP)
The FAA awarded $371 million for airfield, safety and other improvement projects at 169 airports in 40 states across the country. This is the third announcement of awards for the 2022 Airport Improvement Program (AIP), which funds a variety of projects such as construction of new and improved airport facilities, repairs to runways and taxiways, maintenance of airfield elements like lighting or signage, and the purchase of equipment needed to operate and maintain airports.
The Pilot Stated That She “Had A Little Wind Shear (-15 Knots)”
On June 19, 2022, at 1304 eastern daylight time, a Cessna 414, N1996G, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Monongahela, Pennsylvania. The commercial pilot was not injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. In a written statement, the pilot stated that the preflight, run-up, taxi, and en route portion of the flight revealed no anomalies with the performance and handling of the airplane.
AD 2022-13-12 Prompted By Fuel Leakage From The Fuel Nozzle To Fuel Manifold Coupling Nut Connections
The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for all General Electric Company (GE) GE Passport 20-17BB1A, GE Passport 20-18BB1A, and GE Passport 20-19BB1A model turbofan engines. This AD was prompted by fuel leakage from the fuel nozzle to fuel manifold coupling nut connections. This AD requires a visual inspection of the core compartment, a re-torque of the core compartment coupling nuts, a ground power assurance check, and a borescope inspection. Depending on the results of the inspections, this AD requires operators to perform applicable maintenance in accordance with their FAA-approved instructions for continued airworthiness.
