JetPack Aviation Completes Initial Speeder VTOL Trials

Company Will Begin Accepting Pre-Orders

JetPack Aviation has completed flight testing with the first prototype – P1 – of its Speeder jet powered, VTOL mobility platform. Trials concluded successfully in May. Flight testing began in December 2020, with two-axis tethers securing the platform, progressing through a single-axis tether and culminating in the aircraft flying with just a safety tether connection. The program achieved a series of test points aimed at proving the engine gimbal and articulated exhaust nozzle systems, as well as the flight controller.

Honeywell has received TSO-C159 certification from Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) for its Aspire 400 Satellite Communications System. Honeywell's Aspire 400 offer's connectivity via Inmarsat's SwiftBroadband-Safety (SB-S) service. Aspire 400 is reportedly a clean slate design. AD 2021-13-17 Continues To Require The Repetitive Inspections Of The MRB Attachment Pins

The FAA is superseding Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2017-17-01, which applied to certain Airbus Helicopters Model AS332L2 and EC225LP helicopters. AD 2017-17-01 required repetitive inspections of the main rotor blade (MRB) attachment pins. This AD continues to require the repetitive inspections of the MRB attachment pins, and also requires repetitive measurement of the attachment pin chamfer at certain intervals after corrosion removal, as specified in a European Aviation Safety Agency (now European Union Aviation Safety Agency) (EASA) AD, which is incorporated by reference.
