Impossible Aerospace US-1 Drone Responds To California Fire

Aircraft Hovered On Station For More Than An Hour

The US-1 unmanned aircraft from startup Impossible Aerospace made another public demonstration on Friday June 28th, this time at a four-alarm construction site fire burning only minutes away from the company's Santa Clara headquarters. Equipped with thermal and optical sensors, the aircraft hovered on station for one hour and six minutes before the fire was extinguished, demonstrating its endurance.

Hensoldt Collision Warning Radar For UAVs Well Protected

Optimal Antenna And Radome Technology Developed For Detect-And-Avoid Radar

The sensor solutions provider Hensoldt has enhanced an important feature of its collision avoidance radar system for UAVs. As part of extensive laboratory tests and measurements, Hensoldt has developed a special radome technology which protects the radar from mechanical environmental influence such as bird strikes or lightning, while minimally affecting the radar’s functionality. The architecture of the new radome was initially tailored to a test aircraft but can be adapted to other platforms. Further flight tests are scheduled to take place this summer.
