Diesel-Electric Hybrid Propulsion System Claims Lower Noise,
Improved Safety, Half The Emissions
EADS says it plans to present an innovative hybrid helicopter
concept at ILA Berlin Airshow 2010. EADS Innovation Works, the
corporate research and technology network of EADS, develops
diesel-electric hybrid concepts as part of the Group’s
research to make helicopters more environmentally friendly.
STC Issued To Tempe-Based Van Horn Aviation For The Mod
The FAA recently issued an amended Supplemental Type Certificate
(STC) for the Van Horn Aviation (VHA) 206B/L series composite tail
rotor blade to include OH-58A+ and OH-58C models after reviewing
flight and engineering data submitted by the company.
As part of its 10th anniversary celebration, EADS has organized
the "I dream up my future" days. The event offers teenagers a
unique opportunity to discover the fascinating world of
aeronautics.
What began in 1987 as Platte County Ambulance Company in
Columbus, Nebraska is now Midwest Medical Transport (MMT), and the
company is taking to the air with their first medical
helicopter.
