Canada's Edmonton International Airport To Incorporate Robird And Integrated Drone Solutions

Edmonton International Airport ("EIA") will be the first ever airport in the world to integrate a full suite of unmanned aerial system ("UAS") services into their daily airport operations. Starting in Q2 of 2017, Clear Flight Solutions ("CFS") and AERIUM Analytics ("AERIUM") will focus on safely integrating UAS technology at EIA. The primary focus will be on enhancing EIA's Wildlife Management Plan while supporting continued growth of the Edmonton Metro Region's aerotropolis.

Textron Bolsters Support For Citation, King Air And Hawker Customers

Doncaster Service Center Gets Second Mobile Service Unit

Textron has added a second mobile service unit (MSU) to its Doncaster Service Center’s fleet, providing Citation, King Air and Hawker customers additional flexibility for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance events. Additionally, the facility recently received foreign approvals from Aruba, Bermuda and Qatar, allowing the Doncaster Service Center and the London Luton line maintenance station to provide maintenance to aircraft registered in those countries. These enhancements follow the service center’s recent authorization for Hawker maintenance and support, complementing the facility’s established Citation and King Air expertise.

The Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) has reviewed 1,270 new unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) sightings reported by the FAA earlier this year, and finds that the vast majority of these sightings are just that – sightings. Importantly, when releasing the latest data, the FAA specifically stated that no collision between civilian aircraft and a civilian drone operator has been confirmed.
