Kaman has conducted the first flight of its new unmanned helicopter, the K-MAX TITAN. A heavy lift unmanned helicopter for the commercial market, K-MAX TITAN focuses on enabling safety and operational efficiency and increasing future mission capabilities in any location and any type of weather. “We are excited to reach this major milestone on K-MAX TITAN – watching this capability take to the skies and knowing that we are going to solve some of the toughest challenges for our commercial and military customers,” stated Roger Wassmuth, Senior Director, Business Development, Air Vehicles Division.

Among the vendors at AirVenture 2018 was EFX Applied Technology, which makes Interactive Personal Alert systems for use in areas where people might encounter unanticipated safety hazards. Company founder Stan Ross told Aero-News that the company's technology saves lives by "alerting people to invisible dangers." Those can include jet engine intakes, spinning helicopter rotors, airplane propellers and other such hazards. The Interactive Personal Alert System (IPAS) projects an animated laser display on the ground around danger areas when it is activated.

NTSB Prelim: Cessna A188

The Pilot Was Spraying For Mosquitos And Had Two More Residences To Complete

On April 13, 2021, about 0900 eastern daylight time, a Cessna A188B, N4912Q, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Pineview, Georgia. The pilot was fatally injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 137 aerial application flight. The airplane was based at private airstrip in Unadilla, Georgia. According to the operator, the airplane departed Unadilla about 0715 with about 2 hours, 30 minutes of fuel onboard. The pilot was spraying for mosquitos and had two more residences to complete, before returning to Unadilla.
