Textron Launches 2022 Special Olympics Airlift

Textron Aims To Recruit 228 Aircraft Owners For Massive Airlift

Textron has started work on what they call (rightfully), the "company’s signature industry endeavor" — the Special Olympics Airlift (SOA), by starting the call for Cessna Citation, Beechcraft King Air, Beechcraft Premier, Beechjet and Hawker owners and operators to help transport more than 4,000 athletes and coaches from across the nation to the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games in Orlando, Fla. Since the first Special Olympics Airlift in 1987, nearly 10,000 athletes and coaches from across the United States have been transported to Special Olympics World Games and USA Games.

Columbia Helicopters has unveiled a Multi-Mission Helicopter Program, featuring the Columbia Model 234 Chinook heavy-lift helicopter. "With larger and more intense events taking place with increased frequency around the world, such as fires, floods, hurricanes, and other natural disasters, demand is on the rise for helicopters with increased year-round, interchangeable capabilities," says Santiago Crespo, Columbia Vice President of Growth and Strategy.

Foundation Honors The Legacy Of Navy LT Valerie Cappelaere Delaney

DARTdrones has awarded scholarships to young women in aviation through the Wings for Val Foundation. The Wings for Val Foundation honors the legacy of Navy LT Valerie Cappelaere Delaney who was an EA-6B Prowler jet pilot. Every year, multiple scholarships are awarded to women pursuing careers in aviation. Announced at the Women in Aviation Virtual Conference, this year's scholarship recipient, Abigail Wells, is a Molecular Biologist/Geneticist under contract to NOAA's Northwest Fisheries Center in Seattle, Washington.
