School To Open In Former Eclipse Aviation Building In New
Mexico
Southwest Learning Center Founder, Dr. Scott Glasrud, and
Albuquerque Mayor Richard Berry announced Tuesday that the City of
Albuquerque is partnering with Southwest Learning Centers in a
lease agreement as they expand to open their fourth school:
Southwest Aeronautics, Mathematics & Science Academy.
The social helicopter pilot group Twirly Birds has announced the
2012 Les Morris Award Recipient as Mr. Elfan Ap Rees. Mr. Ap Rees
is a noted aviation historian, author, pilot and founder of The
Helicopter Museum, the world’s largest dedicated collection
of military and civil rotorcraft located in Weston-super-Mare,
Somerset on the southwest coast of England.
The FAA has issued a Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin
(SAIB) following reports of pitch trim freezing on four Citation
Mustang airplanes, and offers recommendations to prevent the issue
from occurring. At this time, the FAA says the airworthiness
concern is not an unsafe condition that would warrant the issuance
of an AD.
NTSB Determines Pilot Error Caused The 2010 Accident
It's a story that's unfortunately far too common. A pilot makes
a flight for which he or she is not qualified, and the result is
predictable, and tragic. In this case, a helicopter pilot continued
into IFR conditions in unfamiliar surroundings. Both he and his
passenger were fatally injured.
