On Oct. 29, NUAIR hosted its first New York UAS Public Safety Fly-In, bringing more than 100 public safety officials from across New York State to the State Preparedness Training Center (SPTC) in Oriskany, New York. Unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), commonly referred to as drones, can be utilized by many organizations to help save time, money, resources and in the case of public safety – lives.

TSB Releases Report On 2017 Helicopter Accident Near Tweed, Ontario

Highlights Risks With External Cargo And Unrestrained Passengers, And Calls For Clarification Of Safety Belt Regulations

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) has released its investigation report (A17O0264) on a fatal helicopter accident near Tweed, Ontario, which occurred in December 2017. In doing so, the Board called on Transport Canada to clarify the definition of safety belt in the Canadian Aviation Regulations to reduce the risks of injury or death during a survivable accident.

Kaman Receives Order For K-MAX Helicopter

Has Thirteen Aircraft On Order Since Relaunching The Model

Kaman Aerospace has received a new order for the K-MAX medium-to-heavy lift helicopter. This brings the total number of firm orders since the relaunch of production to thirteen aircraft. The most recent order is from a new operator, Heli Air-Swiss a member of Heli-Austria of St. Johann im Pongau, Austria. Heli-Austria currently operates 35 aircraft focused on emergency medical services, tourism, aerial construction and flight training. Delivery of this aircraft is planned for December of 2019.
