UX5 System Designed For Aerial Imaging And Mapping

Trimble has added its UX5 unmanned aircraft system (UAS) to its Agriculture product portfolio for aerial imaging and mapping. The Trimble UX5 system can enable Ag service providers to easily capture aerial images for scouting and monitoring crop health such as detecting pests, weeds and nitrogen deficiencies.

As ANN CEO and Editor-In-Chief, Jim Campbell trundled around EAA AirVenture 2013, he stopped at the WingX display to see how much more he could cram into his iPad. Jim admitted to Hilton Goldstein, the founder and CEO of Hilton Software, that he has a hard time keeping up with all that’s new. Goldstein said that things are improving and expanding all the time. He pointed out that operational updates make WingX faster, and they have moved into ADS-B functions. Another new feature is an improved weather display.

New Maintenance Facility To Result In 100 Additional Jobs

Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. plans to expand its service center at the Brunswick Golden Isles Airport in Brunswick, GA. The company signed a lease with the Brunswick and Glynn County Development Authority to develop a $25 million, 110,000-square-foot maintenance repair and overhaul facility near its two existing hangars.

Five Percent Increase In TBM Aircraft Delivered From 2012

Forty new TBM 850s were delivered in 2013, providing a five percent increase from 2012 and representing a 20 percent market share for aircraft in its category – up from 18 percent in 2012, according to a news release from Daher-Socata. This marks the fourth best year for the company’s TBM aircraft family since 1990, the company said.
