FAA Upgrades Ukraine’s Aviation Safety Rating To Category 1

Means The County Complies With ICAO Standards For Safety, Regulatory Oversight

The FAA said Monday that Ukraine complies with international safety standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), based on the results of a July FAA review of Ukraine’s civil aviation authority. Ukraine is now upgraded to Category 1 from the Category 2 safety rating the country received from the FAA in June 2005.

Engines Selected For Newly-Ordered A350 XWBs

Lufthansa has selected Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines worth $1.5 billion, including TotalCare service support, to power 25 Airbus A350-900 aircraft. The airline also has options for a further 30 of the aircraft. More than 1,400 Trent XWB engines have been ordered prior to its entry into service next year.
