Delta Named To Dow Jones 'Sustainability Index'

List Recognizes Companies That Make A 'Positive Environmental And Social Impact Worldwide'

Delta Air Lines has been added to the Dow Jones "Sustainability Index for North America," and is among four global airlines listed as "Sustainability Leaders" in the annual survey. Delta is among 143 companies named to the North American index Thursday by the Dow Jones Indexes and global sustainable investing firm SAM, which together annually review 2,500 companies to create the sustainability indexes.

ATR Will Train Pilots Near Charles de Gaulle Airport In New FFS

A new pilot training center equipped with a brand new Full Flight Simulator (FFS) has been opened by European turboprop manufacturer ATR near Charles de Gaulle airport in Roissy, France. The sim, manufactured by Thales, will allow crew members to be trained on the ATR 72-500.

FAA Proposes $1.1 Million Civil Penalty Against Aviation Technical Services

Alleges Company Made Improper Repairs to 44 B737-300s

The FAA is proposing a $1.1 million civil penalty against Aviation Technical Services, Inc. (ATS), of Everett, WA, for allegedly making improper repairs to 44 Southwest Airlines B-737-300s. The FAA alleges that ATS failed to accomplish all the work required by three FAA airworthiness directives calling for five repetitive inspections and a one-time inspection to find and repair fatigue cracks in the fuselage skins of the planes.
