Allegiant Orders 12 Airbus A320ceo Aircraft

U.S. Airline Transitions To An All-Airbus Fleet

Allegiant Travel Company has signed a purchase agreement for 12 Airbus A320ceo (current engine option) aircraft. This deal marks the first time the low-cost airline has purchased new aircraft from any manufacturer. Each will be powered by CFM56 engines from CFM International. The company’s current fleet plan is focused on a transition to all Airbus aircraft including a mix of previously-owned aircraft along with those included in this deal.

Allegiant Selects CFM Engines For A320 Fleet

Deal Worth $270 Million To Power 12 Airplanes

Las Vegas-based Allegiant has announced its selection of CFM International CFM56-5B engines to power 12 new Airbus A320ceo (current engine option) aircraft. The engine order is valued at $270 million U.S. at list price, including spare engines.  The aircraft order was announced earlier today, with the aircraft expected to enter service between 2017 and 2018.

SWAPA Union Board Completes 20-0 Vote Of No Confidence In CEO Gary Kelly

Calls For New Leadership At The Carrier

The board of directors from the Southwest Airlines Pilots' Association (SWAPA) on Friday voted 20-0 by resolution a "Vote of No Confidence" in Southwest Airlines CEO Gary Kelly and COO Mike Van de Ven. The pilots are joined by the mechanics of the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA) whose National Executive Council (NEC) has also completed a vote of no confidence.
