Frontier Airlines Holdings announced Thursday that Republic
Airways Holdings, Inc. has been declared the winning bidder in the
auction to acquire Frontier. The auction was conducted under
procedures established in Frontier’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy
cases.
Incident Has Prompted New Calls For Federal Regulations
In a reply to an editorial in USA Today, Continental
President and CEO Larry Kellner said "Our processes broke down."
"Continental takes responsibility for the care of our customers,"
he wrote, "whether they are on our regional partners' flights or
our own."
