The Third Generation Partnership Project’s Pursuit Of A Complete Mission-Critical Standard Solution Moves On

Airbus will intensively contribute to the next steps in finding a global standard for mission-critical multimedia group communication. After the 3rd Generation Partnership Project’s (3GPP) completion of release 14 of secure multimedia group communication in December 2017, Airbus and its partners within 3GPP are now working on release 15 and 16 by the end of 2019.

FAA To Issue AD For CFM56-7B Fan Blades

Engine Type That Powered Southwest 737 Involved In Uncontained Engine Failure

The FAA will issue an Airworthiness Directive (AD) within the next two weeks that will require inspections of certain CFM56-7B engines. The directive will require an ultrasonic inspection of fan blades when they reach a certain number of takeoffs and landings. Any blades that fail the inspection will have to be replaced.

Second Legacy Airline Contracts With APS For Upset Recovery Training

Providing FAA-Mandated Training To Meet 2019 Deadline

Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) training provider Aviation Performance Solutions (APS) has been contracted by a  second US legacy airline to provide UPRT enhancements that will rapidly and comprehensively meet new FAA Part 121 UPRT mandates due in March 2019. APS provides transport category type-specific UPRT programs customized to each airline and harmonized for all their different fleet types.
