Cyber AIR Act Introduced By Senator Ed Markey (D-MA)
As the Senate debates the FAA Reauthorization Bill, Senator Ed Markey (D-MA) introduced new legislation, the Cyber AIR Act, calling for cybersecurity standards for commercial aircraft. The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) has advocated for two years for the need to assess potential vulnerabilities of expanded technology onboard.
United Airlines Builds On 90 Years Of Aviation Firsts
United Airlines is celebrating its 90th year and they are sharing some information from the past. It’s easy to look at their massive fleet of jet airplanes and not realize that United, and most other legacy airlines, took their first flights in ‘tube-and-rag' airplanes. United decided to brag a bit and we thought we share it with our readers. Their first flight was on April 6, 1926.
Boeing has expanded its training capabilities at its Flight Services campus in Shanghai to support customers in the region. Included in the new offerings are a Next-Generation 737 full-flight simulator and a state-of-the-art 737 maintenance training classroom.
Azul Brazilian Airlines has selected a host of Rockwell Collins avionics, including its MultiScan ThreatTrack weather radar and GLU-925 Multi-Mode Receiver (MMR), for 58 Airbus A320neo aircraft. Deliveries will begin in September. The announcement was made at FIDAE 2016 Chile, the International Fair of Air and Space Exhibition.
