$6.5 Billion Order Represents Shift To Boeing Fleet
Boeing and Air Canada have finalized an order for 61 737 MAX airplanes to lead the airline's single-aisle fleet renewal plan. The order, valued at $6.5 billion at list prices, consists of 33 737 MAX 8s and 28 737 MAX 9s, as well as 18 options and 30 rights to purchase additional 737 MAXs.
Disappearance Of A Second Airliner In Five Years Spurs Interest In Flight Data Recording Streaming
The NTSB said last week that it was studying the possibility of live streaming of flight data recorder information. Joe Kolly, the director of research and engineering for the NTSB made no comments regarding the disappearance of flight MH 370 in an interview with Reuters, but he said discussions about live streaming of black box data from airliners are more prevalent now because it took nearly 2 years to recover the flight data box from the Air France jet that crashed in the Atlantic Ocean on a flight from Brazil to France in 2009.
Converts Options To Firm Orders, Brings To Four The Number Of Extra Capacity Q400 Nextgen Aircraft On Order
Bombardier Aerospace announced today that low-cost carrier Nok Air of Thailand has converted two previously booked Q400 NextGen aircraft options to firm orders. The options were acquired under a contract announced on November 19, 2013 that also included two firm-ordered aircraft and four purchase rights.
