In Honor Of Women's History Month, United Launches Contest For Female Artists

Exterior Design Of A Boeing 757 Airplane Will Promote The Visibility Of Art Made By Women

In recognition of Women's History Month beginning on Friday, United Airlines is launching a first-of-its-kind contest designed to find and uplift underrepresented women artists by providing a chance to paint a canvas like no other — a United Airlines aircraft. While 51% of today's artists are women, less than 13% of art on display in museums is by women artists according to The National Museum of Women in the Arts. Painting a Boeing 757 provides artists with a traveling canvas that flies on average 1.6 million miles a year and 476 cross-country trips.

Planemaker Continues To Strengthen Flight Safety Awareness With The Reference Safety Organization In Africa

ATR signed a partnership agreement with AviAssist, the independent non-profit organization dedicated to promoting African aviation safety. Through this partnership, ATR continues to strengthen flight safety awareness and accident prevention actions. Since 2015, ATR has participated in the annual Safety in African Aviation Conferences (SiAAC) organised by AviAssist. ATR is also a member of the Conference Committee.

Expanded Functionality In Lido/AMM Airport Moving Map/External Bad Elf GPS Receiver Successfully Tested With KLM On Flight Deck

Displaying one’s own aircraft position on airport maps helps pilots navigate between the gate and the runway. This function in the Lido/AMM Airport Moving Map from Lufthansa Systems can now be combined with the external Bluetooth GPS receiver from Bad Elf. This GPS is easy to install on the flight deck and considerably cheaper than using GPS information from conventional avionics systems.
