EasyJet Signs Skywise Predictive Maintenance Agreement With Airbus

Deal Covers The Carrier's Entire Fleet

EasyJet has signed a five year agreement with Airbus to provide Predictive Maintenance services for its entire fleet approaching 300 aircraft. The technology relies on Airbus’ Skywise data platform which will allow easyJet’s engineers to intervene early and replace parts before the component’s failure, thereby preventing passengers from experiencing delays and cancellations.

CDB Aviation, SpiceJet Sign Lease Agreement

Carrier Will Lease Five 737 MAX Aircraft

CDB Aviation Lease Finance DAC, a wholly owned Irish subsidiary of China Development Bank Financial Leasing Co., Limited, has announced that the company signed an agreement with India’s low-cost carrier SpiceJet Ltd (“SpiceJet”) for the long-term lease of five Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. All five aircraft are from CDB Aviation’s order book with Boeing, and are expected to deliver to the airline in 2019.

Medical Transportation Grant Program Funding The Effort

Southwest Airlines has announced the 79 nonprofit hospitals and medical organizations across the nation that will benefit from the Southwest Airlines Medical Transportation Grant Program (MTGP). Throughout 2018, these hospitals and medical organizations all will receive roundtrip tickets for distribution among patients and/or caregivers as a way to help alleviate travel expenses related to medical issues.

Ethiopian Airlines Launches Split Scimitar Winglets In Northern Africa

First System Installation Completed March 20

Ethiopian Airlines has become the first operator in Northern Africa of the latest Split Scimitar Winglet technology developed by Aviation Partners Boeing. The first installation of the System was completed on March 20, 2018, at its MRO in Addis Ababa.  Ethiopian Airlines intends to install the Winglets on its fleet of Boeing Next-Generation 737-700 and 737-800 aircraft.  Aviation Partners' latest Winglet design, the Split Scimitar Winglet, uses existing Blended Winglet technology but adds new aerodynamic Scimitar tips and a large ventral strake, further increasing the efficiency of the airplane.
