A Czech-built Let-410 twin-engine turboprop is reported down on
the small Colombian island of Old Providence. The aircraft, in
commercial service, was enroute to another nearby Colombian island,
San Andres, off the coast of Nicaragua.
The Department of Defense POW/Missing Personnel Office (DPMO)
announced today that the remains of a U.S. Navy pilot, missing in
action from the Vietnam War, have been identified and will be
returned to his family for burial with full military honors.
"No! Wait!" were probably one airport worker's words as he
watched the cargo hatch close behind him at General Mitchell
International Airport (MKE) in Milwaukee.
