American Airlines Donates Last 2 McDonnell Douglas MD-80 Aircraft

Retired Airliners Go To CareerTech In Oklahoma City And Lewis University In Romeoville, Illinois

After retiring the last of its McDonnell Douglas MD-80 fleet to Roswell, New Mexico, in early September 2019, American is donating the last two MD-80 aircraft to CareerTech in Oklahoma City, and Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois. Last week, the airline ferried the first of the donated planes to Will Rogers World Airport (OKC), and the other aircraft was ferried to Lewis University Airport (LOT).

Spirit AeroSystems To Suspend Boeing 737 MAX Production In January 2020

Will Communicate With Boeing For A Timetable For Resuming Production

Boeing has directed Spirit Aerosystems to stop all 737 MAX deliveries to Boeing effective Jan. 1, 2020, due to Boeing's announced temporary suspension of 737 MAX production. Accordingly, Spirit will suspend 737 MAX production beginning on Jan. 1. Spirit will continue to communicate with Boeing regarding the timetable for resuming production.
