First PW1200G Engine For The Mitsubishi Regional Jet Completed And Tested
Pratt & Whitney and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Aero Engines recently achieved a significant production milestone on the Pratt & Whitney GTF PW1200G engine, powering the Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ), Japan's first jet aircraft developed by Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation. The first PW1200G engine assembly was completed at MHIAEL facility in Komaki, Japan, and successfully passed Pratt & Whitney's production acceptance test.
JetSmart has signed an eight-year service agreement, with optional extension to 10 years, with IAE International Aero Engines AG to maintain its current fleet of V2500-powered A320ceos. The V2500 engine is offered through IAE International Aero Engines AG, a multinational aero engine consortium whose shareholders comprise Pratt & Whitney, a division of United Technologies Corporation, Pratt & Whitney Aero Engines International GmbH, Japanese Aero Engines Corporation and MTU Aero Engines.
U.S. Airlines Prepare To Accommodate Nearly 46 Million Passengers Over The 18-Day Holiday Travel Period
Airlines for America (A4A), the industry trade organization for the leading U.S. airlines, today projected that 45.7 million passengers will travel on U.S. airlines over the 18-day winter holiday travel period from Thurs., Dec. 20, through Sun., Jan. 6. This would be a 5.2 percent increase over the estimated 43.4 million passengers who flew during the comparable timeframe last year.
Subsequent to the proposal of Benjamin Smith, CEO Air France-KLM, and the approval of the Air France-KLM Board of Directors, the Air France Board of Directors has appointed Anne Rigail as CEO of Air France, following their meeting on December 12, 2018.
