FAA Presents 'Master Mechanic' Award To Hamilton Sundstrand Employees

Two Repair Technicians Each Have Completed 50 Years Of Aviation Service

The FAA has presented Hamilton Sundstrand employees James Shepley and Edward Moore with the Charles E. Taylor "Master Mechanic" Award for 50 years of aviation service with the company. James Shepley, 80, and Edward Moore, 74, both repair technicians in Hamilton Sundstrand's Customer Service organization, began working at Hamilton Sundstrand in 1957 and 1961 respectively.

Southwest Airlines, AirTran Mechanics Set To Vote On Seniority Integration

No Date Set For Final Ratification Vote Among Members Of Two Unions

Southwest Airlines said in a news release Thursday that the Executive Boards of both the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA), the union representing Southwest Airlines aircraft Mechanics, and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT), the union representing the Mechanics of AirTran Airways, voted to send a negotiated Seniority Integration Proposal to their respective memberships for a ratification vote.
