Climate Extremists Disrupt Berlin (BER) Flight Operations

On Thursday, 24 November 2022, members of The Last Generation, a student-led group of environmental extremists, breached the perimeter of Berlin’s Brandenburg Airport (BER) for purpose of gluing themselves to the airport’s tarmac in protest of both greenhouse gas emissions attributable to commercial aviation and the German government’s alleged inaction on climate change. The incursions forced the suspension of flight operations for nearly two-hours.

Canadian Twin Otter Crash Report Released

Another Incident, Another Lesson in Checklist Adherence

Canada's Transportation Safety Board has published a safety investigation report regarding a 2021 incident involving an Air Tindi Twin Otter that went down due to fuel starvation. The de Havilland DHC-6-300, C-GNPS, left Yellowknife Airport in the Northwest Territories on a VFR flight to Fort Simpson Airport. The flight carried 2 pilots and 3 passengers. The flight proceeded as normal until crews noticed an insufficient fuel state to complete the planned flight.

Delta to Obtain 737 Drag Reduction Kits from Aero Design

Airline to Procure up to 211 Kits for 737NG Fleet

Aero Design Labs and Delta Air Lines have signed a memorandum of understanding for a joint effort to certify the Boeing 737-800 and 737-900 aircraft as installed with ADRS drag reduction kits. The drag reduction kits certification program on the 737-800 is anticipated to commence in Q1, 2023, followed by the 737-900 in the second half of 2023.
