Will Review Proposed Steps To Avoid Lengthy Tarmac Delays During Winter Storms

In preparation for the upcoming winter storm season, U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood and FAA Administrator Randy Babbitt are convening a Forum on Wednesday, November 30 to find better ways to manage aircraft diversions. Participants in the forum will review a series of proposed steps to improve travel for passengers who are diverted from their destination because of bad weather.

Boeing Starts Strong in Dubai -- Emirates Orders 50 Boeing 777-300ER Airliners

Emirates Order Is The Single Largest Airplane Order In Boeing History

After having to take a back seat to large-order announcements by the competition in the last few major trade-show outings, it seems that the tide is turning for Boeing. Boeing and Emirates have confirmed an order for 50 Boeing 777-300ERs (Extended Range) plus options for an additional 20 jetliners. The deal also includes a 12-year GE OnPoint solution agreement for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of the GE90-115B equipped aircraft. The engine order list price and service agreement is valued at approximately $6 billion (USD) over the life of the contract.
