Embraer Hits Ten Million Flight Hours For ERJ-145 Fleet

Brazilian planemaker Embraer announced a significant milestone Tuesday for its ERJ-145 regional jet platform. After a decade in service, the worldwide ERJ-145 fleet has reached ten million flight-hours -- with the total number of cycles (take-off and landing procedures) at around 8.5 million.

The folks at AIR, Inc., tell ANN that airlines hired 697 pilots in October, bringing the year-to-date total to 7,170. The Major carriers had the highest hiring volume in October hiring 265 pilots, followed by the Nationals with 203, and the Non-Jet Operators finished in third hiring 95 pilots for the month.
