Implementation Guidance To Be Distributed Immediately To Airlines
FAA Administrator Michael Huerta announced Thursday that the agency has determined that airlines can safely expand passenger use of Portable Electronic Devices (PEDs) during all phases of flight, and is immediately providing the airlines with implementation guidance.
Plans Set For Aircraft To Start Operations Between Mexico City And New York In The Last Week Of October
Aeromexico has taken delivery of its second Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, which will commence commercial operations during the last week in October on the Mexico City-New York-Mexico City route. Starting in November, the new aircraft will also begin flights to Tokyo and Paris.

In addition, the airline has opted to upsize 8 A320ceo and 10 A320neo aircraft currently on backlog to 8 A321ceo and 10 A321neo, respectively. This order marks the 10,000th order for an Airbus A320 Family aircraft.
A tire from the nose gear of a Vietnam Airlines ATR-72 which apparently separated from the airplane on takeoff last week was discovered in a field near Hai Phong airport where the flight had originated. The plane's crew was unaware that the wheel was missing, even after an apparently normal landing.
