IG Releases Results Of 2010 Baggage Screening Investigation

The Department of Homeland Security Inspector General has released the results of its investigation of a baggage screening situation at Honolulu International Airport in 2010 that involved 48 TSA employees who failed to properly screen checked baggage. The IG found that the shortcomings in the agency's procedures, standards and oversight that likely contributed to the security failure in Hawaii are system-wide, not isolated to one airport or incident.
