Aviation Capital Group Signs Firm Order For 35 Airbus A320 Family Aircraft

Most Are New Engine Option Variant Of The Aircraft

Aviation Capital Group (“ACG”), the commercial aircraft leasing subsidiary of Pacific Life Insurance Company, has announced that it has placed follow-on orders with Airbus for 35 additional A320 Family aircraft, consisting of 30 A320neo Family aircraft, 2 A320ceo aircraft and 3 A321ceo aircraft. ACG has also secured the option to purchase 10 additional A320neo aircraft.

The FAA has released a Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin (SAIB) after reports of cracking on skin panels of certain The Boeing Company Model 737-200, -200C, -300, -400, and -500 series airplanes. The SAIB advises owners and operators of the aircraft of a new inspection procedure for cracking in the fuselage skin panels at the chem-mill steps.

November Air Freight Demand Reflects Strong Peak Season

Nearly All Regions Report Increases

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) released data for global air freight markets showing that demand, measured in freight tonne kilometers (FTKs), rose 6.8% in November 2016 compared to the year-earlier period. This was a slight slowdown from the 8.4% annual growth recorded in October 2016 - which was a 20-month high - but was still more than 2.5 times the average annual monthly growth rate of 2.6% over the past decade.

Will Develop Carrier's Maintenance, Engineering And Training Capabilities

Airbus has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China Airlines (CAL) to support the development of the airline’s maintenance, engineering and technical training capabilities in Taiwan. Under the MoU, Airbus and CAL will evaluate technical and business solutions to develop the carrier’s services for all Airbus aircraft types currently operated by the airline, which include the A350 XWB, A330/A340, and A320 families.
