Canadian Regional Carrier Taps Jocelyn Labell For The Training
Canadian regional airline Hawkair has selected Jocelyn Lebell for the Women in Leadership Executive Development Program. "Jocelyn is a promising young executive who has demonstrated an ability to see how elements fit in a global context." said Jay Dilley President of Hawkair.
Air Canada has been named the Best Long Haul Airline (Americas) for 2014 by the airline safety and product reviewing website, AirlineRatings.com. The results are based on ratings of 450 airlines globally by hundreds of thousands of passengers.
Boeing and Alaska Airlines completed Boeing's first firm airplane order of 2014 for two additional 737-900ER (Extended Range) airplanes. The agreement, worth $192 million at current list prices, coincides with the direct delivery of the 100th Next-Generation 737 airplane to Alaska Airlines.
Last year was another record year for Routes, a series of airline and airport networking events, with more delegates than ever before attending its World and Regional Route Development Forums. Those include "World Routes," which sponsoring organization UBM says is "the world's largest civil aviation gathering."
Says Pilots Had Not Completed Required Proficiency Checks
The FAA is proposing a $150,000 civil penalty against Talon Air, Inc., of Farmingdale, New York, for allegedly violating Federal Aviation Regulations by allowing four pilots to fly without proper training or examinations.
