Launching On Sunday, The Dragon Brings With 4,800 lbs Of Support
Following a weather hold, come Sunday, August 29th, 03:14 EDT, SpaceX plans to launch the Dragon to resupply the ISS. It carries with it plenty of payloads for the astronauts living onboard to investigate. "We're really excited to partner with SpaceX for this mission," Joel Montalbano, NASA's ISS program manager said. "We're using these [resupply] missions to optimize the science and utilization that we do on board space station, as well as increasing the amount of exploration, technology development we can do to support us for future missions."
Blue Origin reveals the successful completion of the 17th New Shepard mission to space and back, which is the 8th flight for this vehicle. The August 26th flight held payloads from NASA’s Flight Opportunities program along with a second flight of the Deorbit, Descent, and Landing Sensor Demonstration under a NASA Tipping Point partnership The DDL demo flew on the New Shepard booster for the second time, testing the technology that will ensure high-accuracy landing for future Moon missions.

Slooh is launching the The Slooh Space Exploration Grant for the 2021-2022 school year with the goal of helping one million students around the US experience space from their classrooms or home computers. Slooh offers live online telescope feeds from astronomical events to students. The rolling grant will be providing one teacher per accredited school around the country with access to the Slooth interface. Also included in the package will be professional development and 40 student seats which students can use to view space phenomena, engage in gamified learning and capture observational data.

Aviation Safety Resources has acquired Strong Enterprises, turning them into one of the world’s parachute technology powerhouses overnight. In addition to announcements in which ASR chutes will be included in a number of new airframes, the strong deal is a massive development in the civil, commercial, and military segments. ASR reached an agreement with Marcie LaVanway to acquire 100% of the stock of Strong Enterprises -- who designs, engineers, tests, and manufactures complete parachute systems.

Rocket Lab shares that it will begin manufacture and design to supply two interplanetary Photon spacecraft for a science mission to Mars. NASA has given the greenlight to launch the mission, planned for 2024. The mission will support crewed exploration programs like Artemis through solar storm prediction, and will orbit two Rocket Lab-built Photon spacecraft around Mars. Another objective of the Escape and Plasma Acceleration and Dynamics Explorers mission will be to explore the dynamics of Mars’ one of a kind magnetosphere.
