As the U.S. Senate focuses on FAA reauthorization legislation, members of the AMA Government Affairs team have met with senators and their staff in recent months to share the importance of the Special Rule for Model Aircraft (Section 336). This past weekend, they traveled to EAA Airventure and talked about the latest UAS regulation proposals with members. While there, they had the opportunity to meet with Senator Jim Inhofe (OK) and discuss model aviation and paths to preserve the hobby as the nation moves forward with UAS integration. NGCs Cygnus Spacecraft Successfully Concludes Ninth Cargo Supply Mission To ISS

Removed More Than 6.600 Pounds Of Disposable Cargo From The Station

A Cygnus spacecraft, the “S.S. J.R. Thompson”, has successfully completed its ninth cargo supply mission to the International Space Station under NASA’s Commercial Resupply Services (CRS-1) contract. The spacecraft removed more than 6,600 pounds of disposable cargo, a new record for Cygnus. The “S.S. J.R. Thompson” also successfully executed secondary missions that included the demonstration of Cygnus’ ability to reboost the space station and the deployment of six CubeSats into orbit from a NanoRacks CubeSat deployer.
