Airborne-Unmanned 07.09.19: NUAIR-Flytrex, Airbus Delivers, Impossible Aerospace

Following tests completed by Northeast UAS Airspace Integration Research (NUAIR) at the New York UAS Test Site in Rome, New York, Israel-based drone company Flytrex, has had the parachute on its package delivery drones validated as compliant with industry standards. This is the second parachute standard validation performed by NUAIR. Currently, the FAA prohibits most drones from being flown directly over people. Professional drone operators can apply for a waiver from that restriction if they can demonstrate they have robust safety mitigations in place including having a validated parachute. Airbus and the Hauts-de-France region have signed a partnership agreement to assess the economic development potential

Three metal reels of videotape containing images of the first Moon landing will be auctioned by Sotheby's online on July 20th, the 50th anniversary of the historic event.
