The FAA has placed a TFR in effect for the area around Cape
Canaveral in preparation for the launch of Space Shuttle Atlantis
on Friday. The launch window opens at 1415 EDT, with the launch
scheduled for 1420.
Adapts To Changing Aircraft Conditions, Implications For
Hypersonic Flight
An L1 adaptive flight control system flew on a NASA GTM aircraft
(T2) on March 24, during the last deployment of the AirSTAR team at
Fort Pickett, VA. The flight, number 14 for the aircraft,
lasted approximately 16 minutes, with the adaptive controller
closing the inner-loop for about 14 minutes.
While perusing the wares at the 2010 U.S. Sport Aviation Expo, ANN's Jim Campbell had the chance to get reacquainted with the relative of an old friend, the newest variant of the CH 700 family, the STOL CH 750.
NASA has selected 25 graduate and undergraduate students to
receive the agency's Aeronautics Scholarship for the 2010-11 school
year. The recipients will intern with NASA researchers and work on
projects to efficiently manage air traffic, improve safety, and
reduce noise and emissions.
