FAA Sees New Aircraft Certification Head

Lirio Liu of FAA International Affairs to Move Up on May 8

The FAA has named the new head of its Aircraft Certification Service to be installed once Earl Lawrence moves on to another role at the FAA. Lirio Liu, soon-to-be erstwhile head of the FAA's International Affairs office, will become the new executive director of the Aircraft Certification Service. Her resume has seen her work as the executive director for operational safety in the Commercial Space Transportation Office, as well as a series of roles in the Office of Aviation Safety.

Aerojet Rocketdyne Secures Largest Contract Yet

The Rising Tide of Amazon Kuiper Lifts All in the Launch Services Harbor

Aerojet Rocketdyne just got its largest RL10C-X engine contract ever with an order for 116 units for the United Launch Alliance's Vulcan Centaur Rocket. The ULA program will use the engines to fulfill its recently acquired launches in support of the upcoming Kuiper project. The Amazon satellite constellation itself accounted for the industry's largest commercial launch contract ever in the giant's bid to create a global connectivity solution capable of going toe to toe with similar providers.

Volatus Infrastructure Announces eVTOL Milestone

As the explosive growth of the AAM industry looms, those involved in the construction and maintenance of supporting facilities have begun laying the groundwork needed for an industry full of electric vertical takeoff aircraft. Volatus Infrastructure worked with the leadership at Wittman Regional Airport and the Greater Oshkosh Economic Development Corporation to develop, design, and complete the vertiport. It is under construction near the Wittman Regional Airport and will include a terminal with amenities, a landing pad, and a vehicle agnostic charging station.
