AMA Drone Report 04.05.18: Section 336 Attacked, FAI Drone Racing, New Hubsan

There is yet another reason why YOUR support and membership in AMA is SO important. Part of the commercial drone industry has just attacked the rules under which we fly and the fight could get rather intense as we go forward... but take our word for it... AMA is ON it. CDA’s rationale is pretty self-serving... “Basic ‘rules of the road’ are needed to manage all this new air traffic. That is why the Commercial Drone Alliance is (today) calling on Congress to repeal Section 336 of the FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012, and include new language in the 2018 FAA Reauthorization Act to enable the FAA to regulate UAS and the National Airspace in a common sense way.

Rocket Lab to Launch First Commercial Mission This Month

Launch Window To Be Open For 14 Days

US orbital launch provider Rocket Lab has confirmed it will open a 14-day launch window this month to conduct the company’s first fully commercial launch. The mission, named ‘It’s Business Time’, includes manifested payloads for Spire Global and GeoOptics Inc., built by Tyvak Nano-Satellite Systems.
