Swiss pioneers Bertrand Piccard and André Borschberg are ready to resume their attempt to achieve the first Round-The-World Solar Flight with Solar Impulse 2, which is the first solar powered airplane capable of flying day and night on electric power only. On July 3, last year, Borschberg landed Solar Impulse 2 in Hawaii after a flight of five days and nights over 5,300 miles from Japan. During this flight, the airplane suffered battery damage due to overheating which led to an unforeseen pause in the adventure.
