Visitors of all ages are invited to attend a galactic adventure
next week, as the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum hosts
its annual Space Day celebration on Friday, May 5, at the Steven F.
Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, VA.
After a series of delays that forced NASA engineers and
scientists to deal with Sisyphean levels of patience -- and, it
seemed at times, futility -- the Boeing Delta II rocket carrying
the CloudSat and CALIPSO cloud-analyzing satellites launched Friday
morning from Vandenberg AFB in California.
An official with the Chinese National Space Administration
revealed details Thursday of that country's plans to launch a
series of probes to the moon... and in the long term, to land
humans on its surface.
