Lunar Satellites Will Assemble Hi-Res Map Over The Next 84 Days
NASA's Gravity Recovery And Interior Laboratory (GRAIL) spacecraft orbiting the moon officially have begun their science collection phase. During the next 84 days, scientists will obtain a high-resolution map of the lunar gravitational field to learn about the moon's internal structure and composition in unprecedented detail.
Claims 125 Vehicles For 19 Countries From Four Separate Facilities
The Ukrainian State Space Agency is claiming a spot among the world's spacefaring nations, saying it has joined the U.S., Russia, China, and the EU by becoming one of the top five rocket-launching countries in the world. Ukraine says it has grown into a significant player in the space industry, having launched 125 rockets and delivering 238 satellites belonging to 19 countries into orbit since 1991.
Students From 24 States Will Travel To Various NASA Facilities In May
Community college students will have the chance to design robotic rovers in cooperation with NASA. Ninety-two students from schools in 24 states have been selected to travel to a NASA center, including NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, CA, to develop rovers through the National Community College Aerospace Scholars program.
