American Autogyro International, Inc. (AAI) has announced the restart of production of the SparrowHawk III Quickbuild kit. In addition, AAI will be offering enhanced support for the more than 100 SparrowHawk kits sold thus far. When the original SparrowHawk Gyroplane was first introduced, AAI notes that the homebuilt gyroplane kit industry had a poor reputation due to accidents. The majority of these could be attributed to flawed designs that used misplaced thrust vectors. SRI International CubeSat Launched To Investigate Ionospheric Turbulence

Phenomenon Can Disturb Essential Radio Communications

An SRI International miniature satellite (CubeSat) space-weather mission, the Ionospheric Scintillation Explorer (ISX), was launched into space on December 15 to investigate regions of natural ionospheric turbulence. These patches of disturbed ions and electrons corrupt radio transmissions and wreak havoc on essential Earth and space-based communication and navigation channels.
