Expedition 64 Arrives Safely at ISS

During Expedition 64, The Crew Will Grow By Four More Members With The Arrival Of Crew-1

NASA astronaut Kate Rubins and two Russian cosmonauts arrived aboard the International Space Station on Oct. 14, returning a medical researcher to the orbiting laboratory ahead of the 20th anniversary of uninterrupted human presence in space. Docking of the Soyuz MS-17 spacecraft to the station's Rassvet module occurred at 4:48 a.m. EDT, after a two-orbit, three-hour flight, bringing Rubins, Sergey Ryzhikov and Sergey Kud-Sverchkov to the orbiting laboratory. The Soyuz spacecraft launched Wednesday at 1:45 a.m. (10:45 a.m. Kazakhstan time) from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

Virgin Galactic Preps For 1st Spaceflight From Spaceport America

Flight Will Be Crewed By Two VG Pilots

The folks at Virgion Galactic are currently preparing for the first spaceflight from their operational base at Spaceport America in New Mexico, which will occur later this fall. The flight will be crewed by two of their pilots and will carry several research payloads in the cabin of VSS Unity. In these final preparations they report that they are working through a number of rigorous steps to prepare the vehicles, pilots, teams and facilities, ensuring that they remain focused on safety as their top priority.
