Since the HAI Heli-Expo is ongoing at this time, we expected quite a bit of helicopter news... but the announcement that Leonardo has acquired the Kopter program is a bit of a surprise... and probably a welcome one to the folks who have been developing the SH09 Kopter program over the last decade. Leonardo has signed a contract with Lynwood (Schweiz) AG to acquire 100% of Kopter Group AG. This move allows Leonardo to further strengthen its position in the rotorcraft sector. Reaffirms NASA's Foundational Authority As A Multi-Mission Agency

Space and Aeronautics Subcommittee Chairwoman Kendra Horn (D-OK) along with Space and Aeronautics Subcommittee Ranking Member Brian Babin (R-TX), Chairwoman Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-TX), and Ranking Member Frank Lucas (R-OK) have introduced H.R. 5666, the “National Aeronautics and Space Administration Authorization Act of 2020.” H.R. 5666 reaffirms NASA's foundational authority as a multi-mission agency and emphasizes the importance of balanced exploration, science, aeronautics, technology, and education portfolios.

Tributes To Be Held At Various Locations Around The Country

NASA will honor members of the NASA family who lost their lives while furthering the cause of exploration and discovery, including the crews of Apollo 1 and space shuttles Challenger and Columbia, during the agency's annual Day of Remembrance Thursday, Jan. 30.
