BOC Aviation Signs Lease Agreement With American Airlines

Will Place 22 New Boeing 787-8 Aircraft With The Carrier

Leasing company BOC Aviation has signed an agreement with American Airlines (“American”) for the lease of 22 new Boeing 787-8 aircraft. The aircraft are powered by General Electric GEnx engines, and are scheduled for delivery in 2020 and 2021.

"We are excited to welcome American as a new customer to BOC Aviation, and to celebrate a new milestone, as this transaction becomes the largest lease commitment in our history," said Robert Martin, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, BOC Aviation. "We look forward to working closely with American and to playing a long-term role as a key partner.”

“This incremental investment in 22 new Boeing 787-8 aircraft also speaks to the strength of our balance sheet and our capacity to provide innovative financing solutions for our global customer base. With this transaction, we have now purchased or committed to purchase more than 390 Boeing aircraft, and we are pleased to expand on our long-standing relationship with Boeing and GE,” Martin said.

“This is a wonderful agreement that brings together the world’s largest airline, one of our industry’s leading lessors, and the most efficient widebody airplane family flying today,” said Stan Deal, president and chief executive officer of Boeing Commercial Airplanes. “We want to thank American Airlines again for deepening their commitment to the 787 Dreamliner program. Their repeat order in 2018 continues to be a powerful endorsement of the airplane’s superior fuel efficiency and passenger appeal. We are delighted that BOC Aviation, with its discerning demands for new aircraft, also recognizes the 787’s value proposition. We are excited to expand our partnership with both of these great companies.”
